New 2017 SUVs to look out for
There are plenty of choices when it comes to choosing an SUV or 4x4 and depending on what you’re looking for in one, this can make it a hard decision. This year there will be even more selection.
This year, sales of SUVs will more than likely overtake that of more traditional passenger cars. This means that manufacturers will be bringing out new models and updating old ones to better suit buyers needs.
MAZDA CX-5 – Without a doubt, Mazda is top when it comes to the SUV sales charts – especially in the two most popular categories of small (CX-3) and medium (CX-5), while its large CX-9 is also winning in the large division. Mazda will be launching the second-generation CX-5 in winter this year.
HONDA CR-V – Coming to Australia later this year, the new Honda CR-V will offer a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, alongside a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder from the latest Civic, both backed by CVT transmissions.
HOLDEN TRAX AND EQUINOX – Holden will be releasing a revamped version of the Captiva, known at the Equinox. The Trax has also had a mild facelift and was released in February this year.
FORD ESCAPE AND EVEREST – Formerly known as the Kuga, the Escape is lower in price, model has been revised and the outside freshened up, hopefully leading to sales which sold six times less than the Mazda CX-5 last year. The Everest will also come in a five-seat-only, giving it a sharper entry price.
